About German Cockroach
Identification
Light brown to tan color. 1/2 to 5/8 inch long. Two distinctive dark parallel stripes behind head. Long antennae. Six legs. Flat, oval body. Wings present but rarely flies.
Signs of Infestation
Live or dead roaches, especially at night. Dark specks or smears (fecal matter) in cabinets, drawers. Musty, oily odor in infested areas. Egg cases (tan, capsule-shaped) in hidden areas. Roaches scattering when lights turned on.

Cockroaches spread bacteria, pathogens, and parasites. Associated with Salmonella, E. coli, dysentery, and food poisoning. Droppings and shed skins trigger asthma and allergies, especially in children. Can cause severe allergic reactions.
